  • CyberKnife M6 – works even faster, so this cyber knife can be used for moving organs (intestines, bladder, prostate)

• The staff is specially trained and regularly certified. The equipment is correctly maintained and decommissioned in time to ensure better treatment success rates.
• The Suraski Medical Center researches experimental drugs. For this reason, new drugs become available to patients sooner, and doctors already have a lot of experience in their use: prescribing the correct dosage, knowing about side effects when combined with other medications. The well-known cancer drugs pembrolizumab (Keytruda^®) and nivolumab (Opdivo^®) have been used here for more than 6 years, and the drugs used today will be available in other countries only in a few years.

• Dana-Dweck Children’s Hospital. Children require specialized knowledge and approach from the staff, and the equipment must be designed for the child’s anatomy. That is why the Suraski complex includes a separate children’s hospital.
• Ikhilov General Hospital is the oldest building in the complex. Includes a polyclinic for consultations and a laboratory for tests and tissue samples.
• Semmy Ofer Heart and Brain Building. The operating rooms for heart and brain are different from the standard ones: they have operating CT and MRI machines. Therefore, the Suraski Clinic has created a separate cardiac surgery and neurosurgery building. It also includes a research center and underground emergency hospital (the largest in Israel).
• Lys Women’s Hospital and Maternity Hospital. The Women’s Hospital at the Suraski Center delivers 12,000 births annually.
• Rehabilitation is the main achievement of Israeli medicine. This field is so popular that the management of the Suraski Medical Center has planned to move the department to the Adams Rehabilitation and Health Science Building.

Modern and quality examination

• The Oncology Department at Suraski Clinic performs tests for mutations of cancer cells. This allows for the selection of the least toxic treatment.
• The equipment used is high definition (3TL+, 256+ slices). It shows the tumor contours well and allows planning for maximum sparing surgery.
• The new contrasts for PET-CT (F18, C11, Ga68, FDG, Choline, Fluciclovine, PSMA, NaF) used at Ichilov allow finding distant foci of metastases in any part of the body with sizes up to 1 mm.
• Genetic screening reveals a patient’s predisposition to cancer. Such tests can completely cure a patient first time, without the risk of recurrence and unnecessary doses of chemotherapy and radiation.

Diversity of treatment options

In case of surgery, patients have access tomodern methods: laparoscopy, da Vinci robot, ultrasonic scalpel, cyber knife. Surgery is performed with organ preservation and minimal blood loss. Treatment takes less time, and complete rehabilitation lasts 2-3 weeks instead of 6 months.
Patients are recommended safe and effective drugs: targeted and immune therapies. Radiation therapy is performed on precise machines that do not affect healthy tissue. This allows you to feel significantly better.

The deputy chief physician is Professor Ofer Merimsky. With more than 35 years of experience in clinical oncology of lung and bone, the doctor has advanced his training in France and the USA.
