Urgently need help — now there is a war in Ukraine!
Russia invaded Ukraine on the night of February 24, shelling residential areas and houses of civilians throughout the country. To date, dozens of children have been killed, hundreds of civilians killed and thousands wounded, houses destroyed and a humanitarian crisis. Most residents cannot evacuate.
Today, the Okhmadet hospital has become not only a place where children are treated, but also a shelter, a temporary home for mothers with children who came here for treatment from other cities. There are parents and children who were hospitalized the day before the start of the war, as well as families who have lost contact with their relatives. Now they are forced to spend the nights on mattresses on the floor in basements under the roar of explosions and the howl of sirens. The kids do not fully understand what is happening, because they are surrounded by incredible love and care, and their exhausted parents are waiting and hoping that this hell will end soon.
Despite constant shelling and airstrikes, Okhmadet’s doctors and medical staff are on duty around the clock, taking care of little patients and their relatives. Now the hospital is also accepting wounded children and performing emergency operations. Thanks to the selfless work of doctors, timely medical care is provided in full. The medical staff is on duty day and night at the beds of children who cannot be disconnected from life support devices.
At the moment, the work of “Ohmadyt” largely depends on volunteers and simply caring people who can provide all possible assistance.
