DHI hair transplant
This technique is a direct transplant of follicles to the bald area. In this case, the donor area is usually the back of the head. Hair is taken using a special Choi/Implanter Pen.
After that, the follicles are transplanted directly from the manipulator into the balding area. Thus, the follicles are minimally damaged, and the maximum number of drafts (hair implants) is engrafted. This hair is resistant to baldness.
The disadvantage of direct hair transplant is its relatively high invasiveness and possible scarring in the donor area.
FUE
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) – this is a technique for extracting hair follicles from donor areas. Modern hair transplant procedures are carried out only with the help of this technology. This method has the following advantages over direct hair transplant:
- Less traumatic and painful;
- Allows transplanting hair follicles at different angles;
- Allows transplanting hair to any place – not only in the area above the forehead and crown, but also in the area of the eyebrows or beard.
FUE stages
- Follicle collection. Groups of 1-4 hair follicles (grafts) are removed using a special device called a FUE machine (a device with a rotating head that cuts out hair follicles). Grafts from the donor area are placed in an isotonic solution to maintain their viability.
- Opening channels. The doctor makes micro-cuts in the area where the hair is to be transplanted. The procedure leaves no scars.
- Hair implantation. The doctor places the grafts on the prepared areas of the skin using tweezers.
Sapphire hair transplant
Sapphire hair transplant is a variant of FUE that is performed with a sapphire pen. This procedure is minimally invasive and creates the most natural effect, as the doctor can adjust the distance between the hairs and set the direction of hair growth.
After any type of transplant, the desired effect is achieved in 6-12 months.
If a large-scale hair transplant is required, not 1, but 2-3 procedures may be required.
