The hospital is accredited by the Italian National Health Service (SSN) and operates with the assistance of the University of Milan. San Donato developed international programs for the treatment of congenital heart defects. The projects were implemented with the support of the association Bambini Cardiopatici nel Mondo, together doctors operated on about three thousand children from around the world.
Leading doctors of Italy in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgeons work in San Donato: Professor Lorenzo Menicanti – ex-president of the Association of Cardiac Surgeons of Italy, Professor Francesco Bedogni – Member of the Board of the Italian Society of Interventional Cardiology, Professor Carlo Pappone – one of the best arrhythmologists in the world.
Thanks to the experience and professionalism of the doctors of the clinic, the success rate of cardiac surgeries in it is 97%. This is one of the best results among European clinics.
Since 2019, the San Donato Polyclinic has been home to the National Institute for Obesity Treatment (INCO), a national reference center with a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of obesity. Thanks to INCO, dietary, psycho-behavioral and surgical treatments are carried out together with the most innovative laparoscopic and minimally invasive methods.
