Cardiac surgeries are performed in a new building — Sammy Ofer Heart Center. There are several hybrid operating rooms that combine diagnostic and surgical equipment. This allows heart surgery without incisions: through small injections under the control of x-rays, CT, and ultrasound. Skilled medical experts perform stenting and shunting, change the entire aortic valve through a catheter (TAVI), and the mitral valve through a small intercostal incision, operate cardiac and aortic aneurysms and treat arrhythmia. All this is carried out on a working heart without opening the chest and cardiopulmonary bypass.

The center is headed by Dr. Yanai Ben Gal, a cardiothoracic surgeon with over 20 years of practice in Israel and the USA.
