Features and Areas of Activity of the Ichilov Medical Center
Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov Clinic) in Tel Aviv is one of the largest and most advanced public medical complexes in Israel. Established in 1963, the center unites five specialized hospitals: Ichilov General Hospital, a rehabilitation center, the Lis Maternity Hospital, the Dana-Duek Children’s Hospital, and the Sami Ofer Heart Institute. The complex covers an area of ••over 150,000 square meters and has 1,500 hospital beds, serving approximately one million residents of Tel Aviv and its surrounding areas.
The center provides a wide range of medical services in areas such as surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, cardiology, neurosurgery, oncology, psychiatry, and rehabilitation. Each year, it performs more than 36,000 surgeries, handles approximately 220,000 emergency department visits and delivers more than 12,000 babies.
The medical center is actively involved in scientific research and educational activities, collaborating with the Faculty of Medicine of Tel Aviv University. More than 350 doctors of the center have academic positions at the university.
