Manipal is the clinical division of the private Indian company MEMG, which operates three universities in India. The Manipal network includes 15 hospitals and three outpatient clinics.
Each year, more than 2 million people travel to India for treatment at Manipal, making it one of the most popular medical centers in the world. The healthcare network is certified according to the Swiss ISO standard, which ensures regular audits of physician qualifications and equipment quality.
The National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) has awarded Manipal a quality mark for compliance with international standards — its diagnostic results are trusted worldwide. The American Joint Commission International (JCI) has also recognized Manipal for meeting 1,000 quality indicators. For oncology treatment, the clinic uses an American-developed artificial intelligence system by IBM. International patients are treated by department heads, more than half of whom received their medical training in the United States.
