    Frequently Asked Questions

    1
Why do patients choose the Rabin Medical Center?

    Best hospital in Israel

According to the rating of the Ministry of Health of Israel, from 09.11.2020, the clinics «Beilinson» and «Ha Sharon», which are part of the Rabin Center, was recognized as the best in providing medical care in the country.
The rating was based on numerous indices, each of which evaluates individual aspects of the work of the departments and medical personnel.

    International quality standards

Yitzhak Rabin Medical Center was one of the first in the country to receive JCI (The Joint Commission International) accreditation. JCI is an American independent organization that assesses the quality of medical services provided in clinics around the world.
JCI accreditation shows that patients can receive all prescribed examinations and subsequent treatment efficiently and safely.

Distance consultations and second medical opinion

Due to the pandemic, as well as for a number of other reasons, patients are not always able to come to the clinic for examination and treatment. For this reason, the diagnosis may be made incorrectly, and further treatment will not bring the desired result.
The International Department of the Yitzhak Rabin Medical Center offers its patients telemedicine services. This is especially relevant for patients who are to undergo treatment in their home area, and they want to make sure that it is correct.
Remote consultations are conducted by highly qualified specialists with years of experience. This means that patients will be able to get answers to all their questions without spending extra money on travel and living in another country.

    Experienced specialists

Every year more than 800 thousand patients visit the clinic outpatiently. At the same time, more than 40,000 patients undergo operations in different departments — cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, ophthalmology, etc. A quarter of all patients with first-time cancer are undergoing treatment at the Rabin Medical Center.
This means that the clinic’s specialists have extensive experience in managing patients at all stages — from the first treatment to discharge from the clinic, regardless of the complexity and stage of the disease.

What are the advantages of children’s oncohematology treatment at the Rabin Center?

All children’s oncological diseases, including blood diseases, are treated in the building of Schneider Hospital, which is the only specialized children’s medical institution in Israel.

    Security

The Department of Oncology and Hematology was completely modernized in 2009, and medical equipment is updated annually. The department has implemented a high-tech multistage ventilation system, which ensures safe stay of patients, accompanying persons and all medical personnel. This approach reduces
sickness rate from microorganisms that are transmitted through the air. This is especially true for young patients who are undergoing chemotherapy, because of the reduced immunity.

    Improved therapeutic methods

The team of doctors at Schneider Hospital is working to improve and implement more successful and at the same time gentle treatment of oncohematological diseases. Specialists select chemotherapy protocols that have less impact on the sex cells of young patients and do not cause problems with conception.
Also, one of the achievements of the Department of Oncology and Hematology is a unique method of cell transplant preparation. Thanks to this method, in most cases, it is possible to avoid severe complications in the form of rejection of transplanted bone marrow cells.

    International cooperation

The department of oncohematology works together with the European Bone Marrow Transplant Association (EBMT). The Bone Marrow Transplant Center is actively involved in the Eurocord project. The department doctors are engaged in international clinical research on new methods of neuroblastoma treatment.

    Clinical experience

During the year, the clinic is visited by more than 7000 thousand children for consultation, diagnosis and treatment of blood diseases of varying degrees of severity:

    • Diseases associated with blood clotting dysfunction,
    • sickle cell anemia and anemia of other etiology,
    • neutropenia and thrombocytopenia,
    • malignant blood diseases: leukemia, leukaemia, Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas,
    • aplastic anemia (bone marrow failure),
