The Cardiology Center of the German Clinic Essen is divided into five different departments, which are created for:

• Outpatient and inpatient treatment;
• Providing emergency care.

• Catheter examinations – 5,000;
• Interventional valve therapy – 350;
• Mitral and tricuspid interventions – 80-100;
• Ultrasound of the heart – 15,000;
• Ablation – 500;
• Device-procedures – 300;
• Percutaneous angioplasty – 800.

Specialization

The clinic specializes in all areas of cardiovascular medicine. The following procedures are carried out here:

• Coronary artery disease: treatment of acute coronary syndrome, balloon dilatation (PTCA), Rotablation and reopening of occluded coronary arteries (CTO), intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT) and measurement of fractional flow reserve (FFR);
• High risk interventions: heart support systems;
• Interventional aortic valve replacement (TAVI);
• Interventional mitral valve reconstruction (MitraClip and PASCAL) and tricuspid valve reconstruction;
• Valve rupture: valvuloplasty;
• Interventional electrophysiology with complex ablation and implantation of devices (ICD, CRT, pacemaker, S-ICD, ILR);
• Heart failure: mechanical support systems and heart transplant listing and follow-up;
• Vascular diseases: treatment of patients with acute aortic syndromes (aortic dissection, penetrating aortic ulcer, intramural hematoma);
• Cardiac intensive care, including treatment of patients with acute cardiogenic shock;
• Diagnostic and interventional angiological treatment (recanalization, PTA, stent implantation);
• Cardiovascular imaging.
