Liposomal lectin is a unique drug developed in Ukraine and intended for the treatment of oncological diseases. In the course of research, scientists have found that lectins (proteins of non-immune origin) are able to restore the function of the immune system and stimulate it to destroy cancer cells.
Liposomal lectin is made individually according to the order of the patient. It is used as an adjunct therapy for patients with various types of cancer. Conducted clinical trials have proven that the use of liposomal lectin helps to reduce the tumor and increase the life expectancy of patients.
The constant increase in the incidence of cancer in the population and the lack of effectiveness of standard treatment regimens have become the impetus for conducting research on improving the effectiveness of anticancer therapy.
The aggressive influence of modern means of chemotherapy and radiation therapy on the body of patients leads to the development of immunosuppression (suppression of the immune system). It becomes unable to provide protection against the development of recurrence of the disease or the occurrence of metastases.
Maintaining the functional activity of immune system effectors at the proper level contributes to the formation of a full-fledged immune response in the patient to residual tumor cells and improves treatment outcomes. For this purpose, along with the use of chemotherapy drugs, immunotherapeutic agents are often used, in particular, cytokines, synthetic interferon inducers, and various types of antitumor vaccines.
Recently, the attention of researchers has been drawn to lectins, proteins of a non-immune nature. They are present in any living system, play a leading role in the recognition of proteins and carbohydrates, and have polyfunctional properties: mitogenic (stimulating cell division), immunomodulatory, and antitumor.
Extracellular lectins, which are produced by saprophytic bacteria of the Bacillus family (hay bacillus), turned out to be the most promising as antitumor agents.
Liposomal lectin is a drug intended for the treatment of cancer patients, which is used as part of adjuvant therapy to stabilize the tumor process. It contains the cytotoxic protein b. subtilis B-7724, which is enclosed in a lipid capsule. This shell allows targeted delivery of a cytotoxic substance to the tumor, preventing hemolysis (destruction) of erythrocytes, which makes the drug adapted for intramuscular and intravenous administration.
The danger of malignant cells lies in the fact that they develop mechanisms that make them “invisible” to the immune system. This phenomenon is called immune tolerance.
Upon entering the tumor, the liposome releases cytotoxic fluid, which leads to the biotransformation of membrane proteins of cancer cells. Altered tumor proteins again become targets for immune cells, which initiates the process of overcoming immune tolerance to their own tumor antigens.
The antitumor effect of cytotoxic lectin has been experimentally proven and protected by a patent (Patent of Ukraine u201901279 Method for increasing the antitumor efficacy of a substance with a cytotoxic effect by creating a liposomal form / O. Dvorshchenko, G. Didenko, O. Kruts, V. Bazas, N. Cheremshenko, I. Voeikova , V. Chekhun 08.02.2019).
For therapy, 1 ml of liposomal lectin is taken from the vial with an insulin syringe and, in the absence of individual intolerance to lidocaine, 0.1 ml of a 2% lidocaine solution is added. Lectin is administered intramuscularly. The rest of the liposomal lectin is stored at a temperature of 4-12°C. An iodine mesh is applied to the injection site.
In combination with liposomal lectin, it is desirable to use calcium preparations and herbal teas with a diuretic and anti-inflammatory effect (in the absence of contraindications).
The treatment regimen can be changed by the doctor depending on the patient’s condition or with the combined use of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. The use of liposomal lectin does not contradict chemotherapy.

What is Liposomal Lectin used for?
Liposomal lectin is a unique drug developed by Ukrainian scientists for the treatment of various types of cancer. The action of the lectin is to overcome immune tolerance (a condition in which the immune system is unable to recognize and attack cancer cells). After entering the bloodstream, the liposomal lectin changes the tumor cells so that they again become “visible to the immune system.” That is, the treatment activates the patient’s own defenses to fight cancer.
What is Liposomal Lectin made of?
The preparation contains protein-containing metabolites b. subtilis B-7724. The excipient is sodium chloride. Liposomal lectin is available as a yellow-brown injectable solution.
How and how long can liposomal lectin be stored, given that it is produced individually?
The shelf life of the drug is not more than 3 months. Liposomal lectin should be stored in a refrigerator at 4-12°C.
I am overseas, can I purchase Liposomal Lectin?
Yes. The MedTour company will help you purchase and send the drug (observing all the necessary storage and transportation conditions) to anywhere in the world.
Can I buy Liposomal Lectin in pharmacies?
No. This is not a serial drug. It is made in laboratory conditions according to the individual order of the client. To purchase Liposomal lectin, you need to contact the medical coordinator of the MedTour company by phone or using the feedback form.
