Hypertension treatment
Hypertension is a long lasting disease, which could be described as increased blood pressure. With hypertension, the blood vessels are damaging and calcifying, which leads to atherosclerosis. Increased pressure in the circulatory system causes dysfunction of all vital organs, including the heart and kidneys.
According to the WHO:
- High blood pressure is the №1 cause of death worldwide;
- The number of people with hypertension is over 1 billion.
At an early stage, hypertension does not cause symptoms and doctors abroad prescribe only monotherapy — treatment with one drug. At the last stage, when the patient shows symptoms of the disease from the cardiovascular system, doctors prescribe a combination therapy.
