Department of Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology uses various radiotherapy methods:
- Radiation therapy. Three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy is performed. Thanks to TrueBeam STx’s innovative technologies, standard IMRT treatment can be completed in 2-3 minutes instead of 15-20 minutes.
- Brachytherapy. Neolife uses intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy. The application dose can be administered temporarily or permanently. High dose rate (HDR) and low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy can also be performed.
- Radiosurgery. Neolife Clinic’s services include stereoactive radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Within the framework of medical oncology, the following methods are used:
- Chemotherapy. It is aimed at destroying cancer cells or stopping their growth. Chemotherapy drugs can be administered intravenously, orally, or directly into the area where the tumor is located (in the abdominal cavity, pleura, and bladder).
- Targeted therapy. It is used for most types of cancer. Targeted drugs target tumor cell receptors or enzymes within cells and cause their death. Some drugs prevent the development of blood vessels that feed the tumor, turn off growth receptors on the surface of cells, and close intracellular conduction pathways.
- Hormone therapy. Medicines used in hormone therapy either prevent hormones from binding to receptors on the surface of cells or prevent hormones from being produced. This treatment method is used for hormone-dependent tumors (breast cancer, prostate cancer).
Surgical treatment of cancer at Neolife
