Ayhan Dinchkan is a renowned Turkish transplant surgeon. He performed more than 5 000 kidney transplants with a very high graft survival rate of 98.3% and patient survival rate of 99.1%.

The doctor has performed over 1 000 liver transplants with a 91.7% survival rate. He took part in the first pancreas transplantation in Turkey at Akdeniz University in 2004, after which he himself performed 77 successful transplantations.

Aykhan Dinckan performs transplantation for both adult patients and children. He is actively involved in the organ donor access program, practicing such approaches as:

• Cross-transplantation from living donors;
• Desensitization of patients with high immunological risk;
• Kidney transplant from an elderly donor;
• Double transplants from marginal donors.

The doctor has experience in performing complex surgeries such as a one-time kidney and pancreas transplant in patients with type 1 diabetes who develop chronic renal failure. When transplanted from a living donor, the surgeon performs all donor operations using the transabdominal laparoscopic method (through small incisions in the abdominal wall).
