About doctor Robert Krempien

Robert Krempien is an outstanding radiation oncologist, professor, doctor of medical sciences, and head of the Department of Radiotherapy and Radiation Oncology at the Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch.

The doctor performs radiotherapy of all types of tumors, specializing in intraoperative radiotherapy of patients with oncological diseases, radiotherapy (including pain therapy) in patients with degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the joints, as well as intravascular radiotherapy on the pelvic and hip area.

Dr. Krempien is actively involved in scientific activities; he has prepared more than 100 scientific reports, which he presented at international congresses and conferences.

  • 1992-1995 – Research activities at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto (Canada) and at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol (England).
  • 1995 – Department of Radiation Oncology at the Heidelberg University Hospital.
  • 2001 – Certification confirming the qualifications for conducting and leading oncology consultations.
  • 2002-2007 – Department of Radiation Oncology and the Department of Brachytherapy of the Heidelberg University Hospital.
  • 2004 – Associate Professor at the Heidelberg University Hospital.
  • 2006 – Awarded the title of Professor.
  • 2003-2007 – National Cancer Center (NCT) of the University of Heidelberg and the German Cancer Research Center.
  • Since 2007 – Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Helios Hospital Berlin-Buch.

Under the direction of Dr. Krempien, the Berlin-Buch Hospital was certified as the leading regional interdisciplinary center for superficial and deep hyperthermia (the tumor is exposed to high temperatures to increase the effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy)..
