About doctor Bulent Tekinsoy (Bülent Tekinsoy)
Dr. Bülent Tekinsoy is a distinguished radiologist with extensive experience and research in the fields of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), digital subtraction angiography (DSA), and interventional radiology.
Dr. Tekinsoy graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Ankara University in 1984. Following his education, under the “Obligatory Service Law,” he was assigned to the Divriği Medical Center (Sivas), where he was appointed head of the healthcare group within a year and also led the implementation of the National Vaccination Campaign in the region.
Professional experience
- 1987 – 1988 – Specialized in CT at the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine, Ankara University.
- Dr. Bülent Tekinsoy received a scholarship from the Council of Higher Education (Yüksek Öğrenim Kurumu) and was sent to the Radiology Clinic at Hannover Medical School (MHH) in Germany by Cumhuriyet University.
- Served as an assistant at the Radiology Clinic at MHH in Lower Saxony, working in the specialized group of Professor Dr. Michael Galanski. In addition to in-depth studies in MRI, CT, angiography, and interventional radiology, Dr. Tekinsoy worked on the development of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and explored the potential use of stents.
- Conducted research on liver embolization and studied the angiographic effects of new pharmaceutical agents in pharmacoangiography. The results of his radiological research on renal osteopathy-amyloidosis formed the basis of his radiological dissertation.
- Worked in the Department of Neuroradiology under Professor Dr. Hartmut Becker at the same faculty, focusing on all aspects of neuroradiology, particularly interventional neuroradiology. During this period, Dr. Tekinsoy personally performed over 500 diagnostic neuroangiographies and myelographies, as well as numerous cerebral and spinal arterial embolic therapies.
- 1990 – Appointed as an associate professor at the faculty. He was responsible for teaching in the CT and angiography departments, planning and conducting training for assistants in the department. Dr. Tekinsoy also served as the education coordinator in the radiology department at the university’s medical school in 1990-1991.
- 1991 – Associate Professor at the Department of Radiology, Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine. He was responsible for the angiography, interventional radiology, and CT departments and contributed to the establishment of the neuroradiology department.
- 1993 – Completed military service at Girne Military Hospital.
- 1994 – Associate Professor at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine.
- 2001 – Professor and Head of the Radiology Department at Maltepe University Faculty of Medicine.
- He was appointed to coordinate relations between Maltepe University and Marmara Private Hospital.
- 2004 – 2013 – Head of the Radiology Department and Medical Director at various private hospitals and groups.
- 2013 – 2017 – Worked at Istanbul Aydın University, serving at different times as the Director of the Vocational School of Health, Director of the Institute of Medical Sciences, and Founding Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
- 2018 – 2019 – Served as General Director at the Private Development Hospital in Iskenderun.
- 2021 – Currently works in the Radiology Department at Okan University Hospital.
