Dr. Abut Kebudi is a renowned surgeon and oncosurgeon with over 43 years of experience.

Professional experience

• 1981 – Graduated from Istanbul Cerrahpasa University, Faculty of Medicine.
• 1988 – Specialization at the Department of General Surgery, Istanbul University and the Faculty of Medicine, Istanbul University.
• 1988 – General Surgeon at Sisli Etfal Training and Research Hospital.
• 1990 – 1992 – Military service at Corlu Military Hospital. Rank – Lieutenant of Medicine.
• 1992 – Worked at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Specialized in performing laparoscopic surgeries, most often for the treatment of oncological diseases (particularly breast cancer).
• Worked at the Faculty of Medicine of Istanbul University, Department of General Surgery, focusing on laparoscopic surgery and breast surgery.
• 1998 – Associate Professor of General Surgery.
• 2004 – Received the title of Professor.
• 2004 – 2016 – Held the position of Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Maltepe University. During this time, the doctor held various administrative positions including the Head of the Department of General Surgery, Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences, Member of the Faculty Council, Vice Dean and President of the Health Law Center (SAHUMER).

Dr. Abut Kebudi also has a subspecialty in surgical oncology. He is board certified in oncoplastic breast surgery by the European Breast Center (Dusseldorf) and is certified by the European Board of Surgery.

Dr. Abut Kebudi’s scientific and practical areas include general surgery, breast surgery, endocrine surgery and, in particular, surgical oncology. He has published approximately 250 scientific papers in national and international journals and presented them at scientific congresses.

Organizational work

• Marmara Anatolian Side Breast Diseases Continuous Education Meetings (MAYMET) platform. Dr. Abut Kebudi is one of its founders. This platform, in collaboration with the European School of Oncology (ESO), organizes regular regional meetings and annual scientific conferences on breast cancer.
• SENATÜRK (Senology Academy of Turkey), Dr. Kebudi is the founder and vice president. This academy conducts research on breast diseases and surgery at national and international level.
• International Reconstructive Breast Surgery (IREBS) Course, Dr. Kebudi is a board member and a member of the scientific committee. This course is held annually with the participation of international faculty.
